FOUR TIPS FOR A CLEAN SCANDINAVIAN HOME

FOUR TIPS FOR A CLEAN SCANDINAVIAN HOME

What does it mean to have a clean look at home?

With a rising demand for space, especially in our tiny country, it is possible to maximise that space and create a cosy home with a clean look! Using minimal pieces of furniture at home, a clean Scandinavian look at home will bring to you the comfort we all yearn for after a long day or hard work.

“Have nothing in your homes that you do not know to be useful or believe to be beautiful.”

- William Morris, 1834

Every piece of furniture in your home would be one that is essential, functional and to your fancy. However, to keep the look clean and simple is the challenge here. We have came up with a few tips that worked for us, so try these for yourself & clean up your home if you’d like a clean Scandinavian look!

1. ROUNDED EDGES

Unlike pointed edges, rounded edges are gentler on your eyes, & adds a soft touch to your home.

Instead of using tacky corner protectors that ruin the aesthetics of your furniture, rounded edges are perfect if you have little ones running around the house.

Not only are they safer, but it also softens the look of your home. Still looking ever so sleek and clean, rounded edges are definitely the replacement of harsh pointed ones!

2. DECIDE ON A COLOUR SCHEME, & STICK TO IT!

Colours, colours & more colours! Of course, colours are exciting, and more often than not, we get too excited about colours whiling planinng our spaces at home.

Instead of merely picking out pieces you fancy at the first glance, remember to keep in the back of your mind the colour scheme that you have decided on. Sometimes, clashing colours may result in your home looking messier than you would like. However, if you are aiming for a clean look, start searching for furniture based on your colour schemes. We really enjoy our wood, and we believe that is the basics for a clean home, try it & let us know your thoughts!

For a clean and minimal look, we suggest using muted tones or monochromatic schemes. But hey, don’t just take it from us! Check out various sources like pinterest, Home & Decor, Expat Living, etc, for inspiration & keep those colours in mind!

Empty spaces are essential in maintaining a clean and minimal look in your home. Organize your home and don’t let the clutter get in your way.

Maximise the space and get rid of your clutter with functional and minimal storage pieces.

Rather than merely chucking books, ornamental pieces and plants loosely around your living room, invest in a sleek wooden shelve or divider, to tidy up your space for a clean outlook!
